- Later moved to Polk County, FL to teach agriculture
- Taught ag for 30 years in Polk County, FL
- Helped found the Polk County Youth Fair, 1947
- Member of the Masonic Tuscan Lodge 6 F & AM
- Member of Bartow Rotary Club
- Attended the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow
- Died March 31, 2006
